excellent resource, if you are aiming for anything above 47.
there are enough 600 and 700 level tough questions covering every topic that is important from test perspective.
the explanations are sometimes too brief, however if you drop a message on the forum, you will most likely get your doubts cleared. it is definitely worth the hype and worth buying. plus if you buy a premium subscription using earned 100 pts on gmatclub, you will get a 30% off on current prices.
verbal section isn't good, the questions aren't up to gmat level.
however it is still worth buying this product because the quant material stands out.
pros: It is a good tool to know where you stand in verbal overall across cr/sc/rc.
it calculates takt time, which is quite an interesting concept-basically tells you in how much time you can expect yourself to get a correct answer. it calculates this individually for cr/sc/rc
also the ability tests tell you your weak spots in all of cr/sc/rc without wasting much of your time. So that you jump into prepping for topics that you're weak in.
it is convenient to use.
cons: the passages of cr/rc are difficult but not difficult from gmat perspective. if one has solved enough official gmat questions you'll instantly know the difference. scholaranium is great to build your skills, but stick to og questions once scholaranium has built your skills and helped you develop certain thinking patterns.
I was very weak in quant had scored 25 in my first attempt, magoosh took me from a 25 to 36 on my second attempt.
excellent video lessons and their email support is mind-blowingly good. Great value for money. I think it's one of the best products for gmat quant.
their verbal section is just about okay, and won't help non natives much.
also their practice questions are quite easy, I had a score of 40-44 on their score predictor, but I scored a 36 on the actual test, so you can't rely on their extra questions for practice, however great tool and interface for learning concepts. If you get a question wrong, they will suggest lesson videos for you to fill in the gaps in conceptual understanding.
overall, magoosh is really good!
it is a very good course for a non natives. each video has been carefully made so as to ensure all topics/subtopics and techniques are covered.
dashboard-makes it very convenient to access videos topic wise
SC-meaning based approach is impressive, it improved my accuracy.
CR-good quality videos that give approaches that can be applied. pre-thinking approach really works.
RC-they press upon summarizing and looking at the big picture in an essay-that really helps. However some of the video lessons in this section that talk about summarizing passages word for word, won't work on the actual test, because there isn't enough time.
I went from a V30 TO V34, I could've certainly improved more, had I practiced more.
